The 1824 Candle Co. is a home-based, family-owned company. We are nestled among the hills in beautiful Wayne County, Ohio.
The company began in fall of 2008, a brainchild of Kurt and Jenny Weaver from Fredericksburg, Ohio. The Weavers loved their town so much, that they used the date it was founded - 1824 - in the company name! Jacob Frederick laid out the village of Fredericksburg in November of that year.
The McKelvey family purchased the company in 2018. Wendy and her husband Shawn spent many years nurturing the company, making the name better known in the surrounding communities.
We (the Miller family) purchased The 1824 Candle Co. in May of 2023. Our hope is to continue to uphold the quality of products both the Weavers and McKelveys were well-known for.
